Decided to Dude up steak bites from the traditional way and beer batter them. This is the kind of meal that works for game day, a casual hang, or anytime you want to absolutely spoil yourself and the people around you.
Ingredients
1/2"x1/2" chunks of beef
1 cup of AP Flour
1 Tsp of Baking Powder
1/4 cup of Cornstarch
Seasonings - salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, etc. or your favorite seasoning blend
12oz can or bottle of ice-cold beer
Extra flour for dry dredge
Instructions
Cut beef down into 1/2" or bite sized pieces. Season to taste and set to the side.
Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.
Season to taste, around 1/2 teaspoon of each or about 1 1/2 tablespoons of your favor seasoning blend.
Whisk thoroughly the dry ingredients and slowly add the beer whisking together as you pour. You may have some clumps, this is ok, over mixing IS NOT.
Get about an inch or so of oil in a saucepan or skillet heated to at least 350 degrees.
Season extra flour on a plate and coat pieces of meat in seasoned flour.
Then coat each piece in the beer batter and carefully set in oil.
Turn and remove after each side is golden brown and set on rack to paper towel to drain and cool.
